AUDIANCE PROFILE

On the right is Claire. She is a 30 to 40-year-old woman who works as a secretary in an office in central Rumford and earns roughly £17,000 pounds a year. As she is often stuck in an office all day she likes to listen to Radio Rumford either on her phone via the Radio Rumford app or on her portable FM radio. By listening to Radio Rumford she is able to get all the local news updates so she is kept in the loop with what is going on in her local community. 

 

The second picture on the right is David. Also 30 to 40 years old, he works as a librarian in Rumford library. He earns around £22,000 pounds a year and enjoys the company of Radio Rumford throughout the day in his office. He can listen to the station on his laptop or desktop computer by going on to the Radio Rumford website. He loves the relaxed yet informative nature of the station and finds comfort in knowing what's going on in his immediate area.

 

Overall the station will be aimed at working age people up to around 40. This will allow the station to operate in the same sort of style adopted by Heart and Wish FM whilst keeping the informative and professionalism of BBC Radio Merseyside. The station is aimed at low to middle income earning workers who are normally sat around for long periods of time. The stations purpose would be to keep them entertained throughout the day whilst offering regular local news bulletin (as I will demonstrate).
