EDITING

Next I had to edit all the clips together in order to create the news bulletin. I used audacity as it is a program I have some previous experience with and it is very easy to use.

To create jingles and also to add the sound effects for the outside broadcast e.g. the helicopter and street traffic sounds I used a website called freesoundfx where you can download thousands of free accessible sound effects.

Below is an example of some of the editing techniques that I used. My product challenges the conventions of a real example in the sense that my bulletin is made up of sections that were recorded at different times with different equipment. A real radio broadcast would be live and this would not be the case. For this reason I had to amplify some sections of the bulletin stayed at a consistent volume.
